  • EOD -$92

I did well accepting the AAPL loss earlier today. If I were still holding on the put, I would be down another $80+ instead of just the -$92 loss. So I guess I’m happy I managed my trade and didn’t wait for somthing worse to come along. Though there were several times today that the option was profitable, it never hit my high mark.

  • AAPL stop limit is hit

Stupid.. Stupid.. Stupid. I shouldn’t have stuck with my stop limit. I got taken out. What’s with AAPL getting downgraded today, the market being down over 160 points right now, and AAPL is up almost 2% ($1.75)? Taking a loss is like failure to me, and I don’t handle failure well.

  • AAPL option decision

I had the urge to eat an apple this morning, so I thought that meant I should look at AAPL and decide what to buy, either a put or a call. Since I had a large quantity of AAPL puts when AAPL was much higher, I did have a bias liking for puts over calls, probably because I made profit on them.

  • Hong Kong costs me money

penguin-thumb.pngI’m currently in Hong Kong.  You know, you borrow $5k from someone just a couple times, then lose it in the stock market and ask for another $5k and soon you wind up in a different country.

  • I’m making account changes

I’ve decided that there isn’t enough risk with just options, so I’m going to be adding functionality to trade things like futures (DJI, grains, etc…).  This should add some more fun and increase the likelihood that I’ll lose money.

  • RIMM = AAPL = BIDU

rimm-aapl-bidu-thumb.pngSometimes people chart things to look clever.  I’ve done that.  Sometimes charts are suppose to be some sort of indicator of the future, sometimes they just are impressive in their matching.

  • Waiting

I haven’t put additional funds into my account… not yet anyways.  For now, I am waiting for an opportunity.

  • EOD +$56

Ya, this isn’t quite the number I would like to see from an end of day post, but the truth is that having a gain instead of a loss from where I was is really a big, big damn deal.  The difference in real money is little, the difference from the initial unrealized position is large.

  • AAPL sold while I was away

I learned a lesson today.  I took a later-than-usual lunch and had a sell order for the AAPL puts, which at the time was pretty far out.  Not too far though, as the sell triggered and though there was a profit made, it really just isn’t enough.

  • I like seeing red, when it’s in the right place

I like seeing red, when it's in the right placeI got the opportunity to see some serious red action earlier.  Since work is really, really busy I haven’t been able to do the many things that I usually do (no downloading mass quantities of chest squishies).  I did enoy the red I saw on the market movers screen though.
