AAPL sold while I was away

I learned a lesson today.  I took a later-than-usual lunch and had a sell order for the AAPL puts, which at the time was pretty far out.  Not too far though, as the sell triggered and though there was a profit made, it really just isn’t enough.

I can only approximate what the exit price was, since it was sold when I was away.  Damn, taking out my profitable position.

Sold:
AAPL Mar08 $120 puts (QAAPD), 15 @ $1.70
Entered 12/11 @ $1.00, exited 1/4 @ $1.70
  70% profit, $1,020.00
  stock price when entered $195.95
  stock price when exited $181.00

Of course, I also had the $155 put triggered to sell, but that was pretty unrealistic when I had it set.  The shame is that I actually wound up selling for a loss, which shows how flawed my entrance was.

Sold:
AAPL Mar08 $155 put (APVPK), 1 @ $8.50
Entered 12/3 @ $10.60, exited 1/4 @ $8.50
  20% loss, - $212.00
  stock price when entered $180.51
  stock price when exited $181.00

Now I hope the market goes up 300 points on Monday so that I can get another good entrance.

  1. [...] thing.  If I were patient (never have been, might never be) I would be up more than $14,000 from AAPL options [...]
