Thursday, Thursday, Thursday

I figured that before quadruple witching expiration day, the logical likely number would be triple pre-witching expiration day, making this Thursday, Thursday, Thursday.  That actually makes today, one of only four semi-unique Thursday’s in the year.

Quadruple witching is the day on which contracts for stock index futures, stock index options, stock options and single stock futures (SSF) all expire.  Quadruple witching days occur on the third Friday of March, June, September and December.  Thus, quadruple witching occurs quadruple times a year.  Quadruple.

Now that I’ve gotten that word (quadruple) out of my system, I will give you my quick thought on today.  Here it is.  I will make money today and end the day with a profit!

That’s it.  No market thoughts, nothing about where the market is headed.  Just me saying that I’ll make a profit and you will be allowed to share in my victory dance, even if it’s only verbal.  If I were to make a few thousand dollars in profit on a day, I’ll post a YouTube video of my physical victory dance.  This isn’t victory over someone, it’s victory over the market.

Well, enough of enough, it’s time to make some money.

JCP is doing alright, not enough of a drop yet. 

TGT is doing well, nice break and follow through with the dropping. 

RIMM can eat me, I’m not giving up my put even if the stock goes back to $137.01, in fact, I’ll start piling all my spare money and retirement funds against it until I win or go broke trying.  Watch for RIMM to declare a loss after hours, saying the economy might be slowing down.

IWM (Russell) is trading pretty rude to my position.  I’ve got time left though, so whatever happens will just make me celebrate other victories more.

AAPL is pushing a little higher, helped by ORCL not sucking.  Stupid ORCL.  You suck.  Ever heard of MySQL?  What a rip.  I use to help manage an Oracle database.  It was someplace that I will deny working (that’s the training I had).  Anyway, the database was big and bulky and required hardware that SETI could have used for finding ET.
