End of Day $0
My limit order didn’t fill so I missed out on getting BIDU puts. So no trades for me today. I’ll just have to wait for a new opportunity to come along.
Nasdaq ended the day at 2652.35 -66.60 (-2.45%). I wish I made some money today but I missed out and just have to remind myself that being flat for the day is definitely better than being negative for the day. Some opportunities coming up:
JCP - JC Penneys (closed $45.73 -2.14): Low of the day is $45.31. If it goes to $44.84 it will have closed a gap, plus it will be at levels pre-Lehman Brothers upgrade. Should be good for a bounce after it closes the gap.
MA - MasterCard Incorporated (closed $217.50 +3.99): This stock is strong. It reported blowout 3Q Profits in October and has never really looked back. And a line that stands out from an article about it: “In these rocky times for the financial sector, MasterCard plays a desirable role: Processing the world’s credit card payments but taking on none of the debt. The risk is instead held by the 25,000 banks in more than 200 countries that issue the cards.” I want it at $210.
CFC - Countrywide Financial Corporation (closed at $11.33 -1.18): I like it for the volatility. Just be picky about the entry price and it should be good for a daytrade. Plus if you end up holding it overnight, you can always tell yourself George Soros is underwater by over 7 points more than you are.
Plus I’ll be watching the usual crazies: AAPL, AMZN, BIDU, FSLR, GRMN, PCLN, RIMM, VMW, etc.
