End of day $0
I made some purchases today, but didn’t sell anything. I’m thankful that Dell didn’t report super well, helping to take things down after hours. Now if only Bernanke would come forward and say “screw you all, I’m leaving rates alone”. Ya… that would make my day and give me a shot of getting back into this competition. Damn Lindsey..
Making the deals I did, I’m pretty happy with my current positions. I should have waited a little more before entering like I did this morning, I could have avoided watching the market see-saw all day. Well, here we go.
I bought puts and puts and .. umm .. puts.
RIMM: I love to hate you. I actually bought puts in my competition account (and straddled in my non-comp account). This $120 area isn’t going to hold for long, I foresee tomorrow a drop of $4-$7, allowing me to recover a bit of my previous losses and gaining back just a bit more dignity.

BIDU: This time I don’t think that BIDU will be strong enough and will have a little retracement. Based on that wild-ass-guess of mine I decided on getting a put (Dec07) which was pretty close to expiration, much closer than I usually like (I’m usually more likely to buy puts or calls at least a couple months out). This might have hits it’s stride for a little while here, going back to the $350 area.

SHLD: This is going to be an easy play. When I entered I realized that if I had more money in this account I would have bought more calls. SHLD isn’t going to stay at these levels. Thankfully, it might take a while but these calls will yield me enough money to lose on RIMM or BIDU in the future.

Well, the day is over for trading.. well, not for Forex, but I’ll talk about that another day.
